Hope Community produces a weekly podcast to complement our Sunday gathering in the Northside Center. Listen in, sing along, pray together, virtually gather around the table of our Lord, and reflect on what you hear. And please do send us your questions or comments.

The New Testament book of Luke records that Jesus violated many taboos. This week we look at the account of His performing an illegal healing. When the religious leader attempted to shame Him, Jesus called that religious leader a hypocrite. The question for us, do we allow our culture to limit, to bind our witness?

Who spoke and taught the sun to rise?
Whose lips proclaimed the birth of light?
Who sparked the kindling of stars
And set the fire in our hearts?

Who sang as planets learned their dance?
Who poured the oceans from His hands?
Whose breath awakened life from dust
And leaves me breathless at His touch?

Jesus, one and only, great and holy, we are Yours
How our hearts race at your glory, Lord Almighty
We are Yours, and Yours alone

Who is this man upon a cross?
Who left His throne to ransom us
Who died to save us at our worse
And rose to give us heaven's best
You rose to give us heaven's best

Jesus, one and only, great and holy, we are Yours
How our hearts race at your glory, Lord Almighty
We are Yours, and Yours alone

We will watch the Bridegroom come
And heaven breaking like the dawn
All dressed in white, our shame is gone
We're free to dance before Your throne

Jesus, one and only, great and holy, we are Yours
How our hearts race at your glory, Lord Almighty
We are Yours, and Yours alone

DIY Communion
Supply your own bite of bread or cracker, and swallow of red wine or grape juice.
Then, regardless of how socially distanced you may be
gather with us at the table of our Lord.
As you listen to this song, eat the bread and drink the cup,
and remembrance of what Christ has accomplished and will soon fulfill.

Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever
Amen.

Come Thou Fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy, never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the Mount, I'm fixed upon it
Mount of God's redeeming love

Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wandering from the fold of God
He to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood
How His kindness yet pursues me
Mortal tongue can never tell
Clothed in flesh till death shall loose me
I cannot proclaim it well

O, to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be
Let Thy goodness like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart, O take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above

Hallelujah! He has saved me
Hallelujah! He has come
Hallelujah! It is finished
O, the victory has been won

O, awaken all Thee children
Hear the call of Father's love
This salvation not for keeping
But to share and to award
A generation You desire
Bringing Jesus to the lost
No other worthy cause we cling to
Than the one shone on the cross
