God’s story, Jesus’ stories
2/12/2017 — Dan Nygaard
In God’s story, Jesus told stories, lots of stories.
He told stories to fulfill ancient prophecies:
“I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world.” ~
God’s story, miracles
1/29/2017 — Dan Nygaard
God’s story is packed with miracles.
Creation is a miracle. Science calls “the big bang” the singularity
because it’s a singular event, unlikely to be repeated.
Life itself is a miracle. Science offers little more that vague theories of how life might somehow have arisen from non-living material.
Christianity resulted from the miracle of Jesus’ resurrection.
And God’s story anticipates a miraculous kingdom coming to this earth ~
God’s story, the kingdom of God
1/22/2017 — Dan Nygaard
In God’s story the Kingdom of God is a present, but not yet reality.
Jesus began His mission boldly announcing that the Kingdom of God is near,
and that kingdom is accessible to His followers.
Jesus challenges you to believe this out-of-this-world good news. ~
God’s story, the sin of the world
1/15/2017 — Dan Nygaard
In God’s story there’s a thing called sin.
Sin is not some arbitrary list of do’s and don’ts.
Sin is the term the Bible uses to identify the deep, infectious, destructive, deadly problem that’s destroying creation. ~
God’s story, last prophet
1/8/2017 — Dan Nygaard
The Bible tells a wonderful, big story.
God’s story records one last prophet raised up to alert and prepare the Jewish people for
the coming Messiah.
He identified Jesus as, “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” ~
