God’s story, disciples

In God’s story there are disciples—people who take on Jesus’ characteristics.
they pursue intentional relationships, display contagious faith, live with extravagant generosity, adopt life-giving practices and engage in meaningful ministry. ~
God’s story, satan
3/12/2017 — Dan Nygaard
In God’s story there exists a spiritual being whom the Bible identifies as The Accuser,
in the Hebrew language—Satan.
In the Bible, Jesus confronts and seems to be stalked by this polluted, spirit being. ~
God’s story, salvation
3/5/2017 — Dan Nygaard
God’s story is all about salvation.
But our culture rejects the idea that salvation is needed or even available.
The world claims you are doomed to nothingness.
The Bible offers everlasting life. ~
God’s story, exile
2/26/2017 — Dan Nygaard
According to God’s story, humanity has been living in exile since Adam & Eve were
expelled from the garden.
God’s story is about His loving, sacrificial work to end our exile and our slavery.
And His story is about cynical humanity embracing exile and slavery
because we can’t believe or don’t trust God. ~
God’s story, Son of God
2/19/2017 — Dan Nygaard
In the first century, son of God meant something different than the way people today
understand that phrase.
A son was not so much a different person than his father, rather a son was understood to be
another representation of his father.
Jesus claimed to be God, a claim New Testament writers endorsed.
Jesus’ death on the cross was not about placating an angry God,
instead the cross expressed God’s deep, rich love for humanity enslaved by sin. ~
